Beginner Glass Blowing

The Beginning Glassblowing Class consists of the following items: each person will get a tour of the Studio, Gallery and Hot Shop, and a short explanation of Peter’s background in art and glass processes. You will also receive a demonstration of a blown art glass piece at the end of class. Each person can expect to make 8 – 10 pieces in this class. Each person will be able to pick out their own colors for their art piece. Each piece will use a different technique, we will also experiment with specialty glass. We will start out making different paperweights to build your skills to be able to learn how to blow the glass. You will have the opportunity to blow several pieces, learning different shapes/sizes. Pieces will NOT be ready to take home on the same day. This is because they have to cool down after being made and cooling times vary from 24 – 48 hours. Ages 16+
